This is digital guide all about growing and using Japanese Indigo (Persicaria Tinctoria). This ebook has 30 pages of information and photographs detailing how to grow Japanese Indigo from seed, care for your plants during the growing season, and how to harvest and use your plants once they are mature. I started growing Japanese Indigo three years ago in my backyard to use in my natural dye business, but I had no idea what I was doing! I wrote the ebook I wished I had had when I started. This guide is the culmination of everything I have learned over the last few growing seasons to help your journey with indigo be one of ease and joy.

Sliding Scale Pricing

If you are wondering why there are several listings for the same offering but at different prices it’s because I’m currently using sliding scale pricing. By offering the same content but at different levels of pricing I can give more people in the community access to my work. In a world where the legacies of capitalism, racism, colonialism, and other forms of systemic oppression still reign it is very important to me to offer options that can help balance some of this in at least a small way. The idea behind this pricing model is that by allowing individuals to choose the price that is right for them, those that need support will be supported by those who benefit from privilege and have the ability to pay the higher pricing level. Please choose the level that works best for you, your privilege, and your income level. I have listed some guidelines below to help if you are unsure about which pricing level to choose.

Lowest Pricing Level:

This level is right for you if you identify as BIPOC, are differently-abled or otherwise systematically marginalized because of your gender or sexuality or chronic illness, are unemployed or underemployed, receive government support, do not have savings or expendable income, have an unstable or temporary housing situation, or are unable to meet your basic needs.

Middle Pricing Level:

This level is right for you if you have steady income but not a lot of expendable income, you may have some debt but are still able to meet your basic needs, you are employed, or own a vehicle, you have a stable living situation, and are able to occasionally take a vacation or buy expendable items each month.

Highest Pricing Level:

This level is right for you if you are able to comfortably meet all your basic needs, have expendable income and are able to buy new items frequently, own property or rent higher-end property, own a vehicle or vehicles, take regular vacations, and have financial savings.

The following are just guidelines, you don’t need to meet every one of these to qualify for a pricing level; they are simply suggestions to help you determine where you fall in the pricing model. The idea is to look at what you have and where you are in your life right now and determine if you are in a place where you need more support or you can offer more support.
